The LAKE BRADDOCK BRUIN BAND BOOSTERS, INC. is a non-profit public charity (501.c3) incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia to provide financial and organizational support to the band and color guard programs, their directors, and the school they represent. Volunteer activities are organized and promoted by the Board of Directors and committee chairpersons. The goal of over 400 parents and friends of the band is to help our children understand the value of teamwork, and the benefits of working toward positive goals. See the new 2007 Parent Guide.
Membership in the Bruin Band Boosters is open to any interested person. The membership fee is $5.00 per person per year. Membership entitles you to participate in all booster-sponsored activities, to attend free of charge the scheduled band concerts at Lake Braddock, and to vote on all issues brought before the organization at meetings of the general membership.
General Membership Meetings are held approximately 4 times per year (generally the second Mondays of Sept., Nov., Feb. or Mar., and May), explain upcoming events, and provide the membership with the opportunity to meet the band directors and the officers of the board. They also provide those who attend with the chance to directly ask questions they may have on any band subject. The meetings last about 1 hour, are held in the big band room at Lake Braddock , and are advertised in advance via the phone tree and in the newsletter. |
